Scott Zylstra plays guitar and sings lead and harmony vocals. He is a master of tone, taste and timing and propels the band forward with his superb rhythm and tasteful lead work. Scott has played in a number of bands throughout Michigan including the Porkypines. Scott is the owner of Frontier Recording, a highly successful recording and production studio. Scott’s distinctive guitar style is always an immediate crowd favorite. Zak Bunce “drives” the Detour sound with the doghouse bass. Zak started
singing and playing music at an early age in one of Michigan's leading roots family bands, Lake Effect. Zak has also performed extensively with his sister, Rachael Davis. Even though Zak doesn’t look like he could ever be lonesome, when he sings lead he reaches out and grabs that high lonesome sound.
Mike Sumner has established himself within the bluegrass world as one of the finest five string banjo players around. A winner of numerous banjo contests including; the Winfield National Banjo Championship, the Merlefest Banjo Contest, and Rockygrass, Mike is one of the most musical banjo players in the biz today. When asked; “Hoosier favorite banjo player?”, we all agree it’s Mike! http://www.wvfest.com/http://www.merlefest.org/http://www.bluegrass.com/rockygrass/shapeimage_3_link_0shapeimage_3_link_1shapeimage_3_link_2
